Lepidolite is lithium made lilac — soft purple mica shot through with the pink tourmaline that grows inside it, two stones from one seam. Left raw and rough here, hand-knotted on red silk so the cord shows between every nugget. This is a one of a kind. The only one.
Uncut lepidolite nuggets run the strand, lavender going grey where the light catches the mica, pink tourmaline threading through the purple. Red silk knots hold each one in place, the color running hot against the cool stone, closed on a small silver-tone clasp. Made once, by hand, before it reached us. No two pieces like this exist.
At 15 inches it sits high at the base of the throat, the raw stone against bare skin. Wear it alone, doing all the work. Keep it dry and off perfume — lepidolite is soft and the silk holds water. A dry cloth is the whole maintenance plan.
