Tiger's eye takes its light from iron. Bands of it lock into quartz over slow geologic time, and when the stone is cut the light slides across the grain the way it does on water. This strand gathers that chatoyance in graduated barrels and tumbled stones, honey-gold deepening to dark brown and near-black banding, hand-knotted along a warm rust cord and broken by polished steel beads that catch a cooler light. No two stones band the same.
Worn at the collarbone as a continuous line of stone, it reads warm against the skin and sits easily under an open collar. The strand is consistently made; the stones it carries, and the person who wears them, are not. Keep it off water and chemicals, and wipe it dry after wear.
