This set of four vintage smoky glass bowls features a stunning triangular organic shape with fluid, sculptural lines. The soft smoky gray hue adds a sleek and elegant touch, making them perfect for modernist and minimalist interiors. Whether used for serving, display, or as statement decor, these bowls effortlessly blend form and function.

Era & Style: Likely from the 1960s-1970s, these bowls are attributed to Dorothy Thorpe, one of the first female mid-century designers known for her smoky glass and silver-rimmed designs. As a pioneer in glassware design, her work was often hand-applied to blank glass from quality manufacturers like Crown Glass, making many of her pieces unmarked. The organic, freeform style also aligns with the work of Scandinavian makers such as Holmegaard (Denmark) or Krosno (Poland).

Perfect For:
✔️ A refined vintage glassware collection
✔️ A unique statement for modernist or Scandinavian-inspired interiors
✔️ Serving snacks, desserts, or displaying small objects in an artful way

Each bowl is individually crafted, ensuring subtle variations in shape and finish, adding to their character. Expect minor vintage wear, which enhances their authenticity.

FAQs

What stones do we use in our designs?

Drop #1 consists of SAÉA designs made from different shades of Onyx, a rare and stunning stone that is found in abundance in Balochistan. Read more here.

When will we launch more stone designs?

Our next drop is planned for Spring '25. While we plan to offer a lot more variety in our designs, we believe in creating with intention, not mass production. We plan to not only expand to additional smaller decor items, but also larger furniture pieces made of 100% natural stone.

Every SAÉA drop intentionally features limited quantities, ensuring that each piece is thoughtfully crafted and we're not contributing to waste. We'll keep you posted when it's time for our next drop - make sure to sign up for our newsletter to be notified.

How long will it take to receive your order and how much does shipping cost?

We offer both domestic & international shipping. Ground shipping takes 3-7 days.

Flat $10 shipping within the US. Free shipping when you purchase at least 2 designs.

Since we are local to the Bay Area, we do offer local deliveries within a limited radius for a flat $5 fee.

International Shipping Locations:

Shipping costs vary based on location and are calculated at checkout. Please note that additional duties and taxes may apply depending on your local laws.

Are we truly plastic/synthetic free?

Yes, we refuse to use plastics at SAÉA. Our designs are made of 100% natural stone. We have also taken a lot of care to ensure that our packaging is either 100% recyclable or compostable and completely plastic free.

Our vintage curations are upcycled and consciously sourced, giving new life to timeless designs while reducing waste and promoting sustainability.

Do we have a physical location?

Not yet, but we will soon. We are based in San Francisco and do local pop-ups across California in the meantime. We'd love to see you at our next pop-up and will keep you posted! Make sure to sign up for our newsletter to be notified of our next pop-up location & date.
