STRATA · VEIN · WEIGHT
STRATA — Single-source onyx from Balochistan, Pakistan, split once and carved by hand.
VEIN — Caramel and tobacco banding on the lid, tightest around the knob. The stepped base runs caramel with cream bands. Underneath the lid, blush pink, cream and rust in concentric rings. A thin dark vein crosses the top of the knob. One of one.
WEIGHT — Stone, where a box this size is usually wood or ceramic. 2 lb.
DETAILS
- Raw onyx, sealed in food-grade beeswax, so it's as close to the earth as possible when you touch it. No resins, no dyes.
- 5 × 4 × 2 in (W × D × H)
- Rectangular, with bombé sides on a stepped base. Fitted lid with a small square two-tier stone knob; the raised panel on its underside sits inside the opening.

Onyx is a natural stone, stunning but not bulletproof. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh detergents. Read more here.
Each piece is sealed with food-grade beeswax. Refresh every 6 to 12 months by warming a small amount of oil or wax into the surface, then buffing gently with a soft cloth.
Free ground shipping on U.S. orders over $100. Hand-packed in San Diego using recyclable, plastic-free materials, usually shipped within 1-2 business days.
30-day returns on unused, undamaged pieces. Email us at hello@saeadesigns.com and we will send a return label.
If a piece arrives damaged in transit, send photos of it as it came out of the box to hello@saeadesigns.com and we will refund or exchange it.

Onyx forms in slow, mineral-rich pockets underground — layers laid down over thousands of years. Each slab is split once, then carved by hand, which is why no two pieces share the same ribboning.
We keep the walls thin so light passes through when the piece sits on a window ledge.
