the finer details
Labradorite is feldspar that cooled slowly enough to come apart. As the temperature fell the minerals separated into layers, stacked fine enough to catch light and split it on the way back out. The flash is not on the stone. It is inside it, and it only shows when the angle is right.
This one runs blue through teal, violet coming up where the layers sit closest, over a grey-gold ground that stays dark until you move. Set in a heavy sterling bezel on a black leather cord, it falls at the sternum. Turn, and the stone turns with you. The setting is made the same way each time. No two stones flash alike. Worn, you become the vein that runs different in the room.

FORM — A large oval cabochon, blue to teal with violet, over a grey-gold ground. One stone at center, nothing competing with it.
WEAR — 22" black leather cord. Falls at the sternum. Wipe dry; keep the leather and stone from water, perfume, and oils.

Each piece is sealed with food-grade beeswax. Refresh every 6 to 12 months by warming a small amount of oil or wax into the surface, then buffing gently with a soft cloth.

Onyx forms in slow, mineral-rich pockets underground — layers laid down over thousands of years. Each slab is split once, then carved by hand, which is why no two pieces share the same ribboning.
We keep the walls thin so light passes through when the piece sits on a window ledge.
