Larimar comes from one mountainside. Not one country or one region. A single hillside in Barahona, in the Dominican Republic, and nowhere else on Earth. It is pectolite that took up copper while filling cavities in cooling volcanic rock, and the copper is why it is blue. The deposit is finite. It has been worked since the 1970s and one day it will be gone. An oval cabochon, an inch and a half of it, pale blue banded through white where the mineral crystallized in turns. Set deep in a heavy sterling bezel with a wide bail, hung on a strand of larimar cut from the same seam. It falls mid-chest and the blue reads from across a room. One of a kind. The exact piece you'll receive.

MAKE — Natural larimar, sterling silver bezel, bail, and clasp. Single-source Barahona. Natural stone only. No dyes, no synthetics.
FORM — A 1.5" oval cabochon, pale blue banded through white, set in a heavy stepped bezel. Strung on larimar.
WEAR — 21" with the pendant; 15" without the pendant. Falls mid-chest. Larimar is soft and scratches. Store apart, and keep it out of long stretches of direct sun.
