Pietersite is a quartz that was broken and healed. Fibers of hawk's eye and tiger's eye, torn apart underground and cemented back in the wrong order, so the shine runs in several directions at once. Navy, rust, a seam of copper. This is the one you get.

FORM — A teardrop cabochon, smooth-domed, navy through the body with rust and copper crossing the lower half. One stone at center, nothing set beside it.
WEAR — Five lengths, one stone. Black leather cord for a quieter line, sterling silver for weight and shine.

ORIGIN
Pietersite starts as hawk's eye and tiger's eye, quartz that grew in fibers along an old fault. Tectonic movement broke the fibers apart and silica cemented the fragments back together at every angle. The shine that crosses the stone is the break, healed.
