STRATA · VEIN · WEIGHT
STRATA — Single-source onyx from Balochistan, Pakistan, carved by hand.
VEIN — Cream-white patches break through near the corners of the lid. Olive-gold bands and dark plum eye rings wind around the body. Under the lid, the raised panel runs cream and honey with a small dark brown eye. No two veins run the same.
WEIGHT — Heavier than a wooden box of the same size. 2 lb, lid and knob included.
DETAILS
- Natural onyx, sealed in food-grade beeswax, so it's as close to the earth as possible when you touch it. No resins, no dyes.
- 5 × 4 × 2 in (W × D × H)
- Bombé sides, a stepped base and a square two-tier knob. The panel under the lid sits inside the opening.
- One box with its fitted lid. Sound, no damage.

Onyx is a natural stone, stunning but not bulletproof. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh detergents. Read more here.
Each piece is sealed with food-grade beeswax. Refresh every 6 to 12 months by warming a small amount of oil or wax into the surface, then buffing gently with a soft cloth.
Free ground shipping on U.S. orders over $100. Hand-packed in San Diego using recyclable, plastic-free materials, usually shipped within 1-2 business days.
30-day returns on unused, undamaged pieces. Email us at hello@saeadesigns.com and we will send a return label.
If a piece arrives damaged in transit, send photos of it as it came out of the box to hello@saeadesigns.com and we will refund or exchange it.

Onyx forms in slow, mineral-rich pockets underground — layers laid down over thousands of years. Each slab is split once, then carved by hand, which is why no two pieces share the same ribboning.
We keep the walls thin so light passes through when the piece sits on a window ledge.
