Onyx forms in water, one mineral layer at a time, over a span no hand can rush. This one came up pale green — pistachio cooled in shadow — banded with honey and shot through with rust and smoke. Single-source Balochistan. Carved by hand, never by mold.
Set it down and the room arranges around it. The green holds cool in flat daylight, then warms when light passes through — the amber rises, the veining lights from within. A piece that reads differently from morning to lamplight, and asks nothing of you for it.
It holds what you reach for. Brushes at the sink. Wooden spoons by the stove. Pens at the desk. Or nothing at all — a tealight behind the wall of stone, and the whole vessel glows.
No two veins run the same. The photo is a guide to color, not a contract. The strata occurs once.

CRAFTED WITHOUT COMPROMISE
Carved from a single block of Balochistan onyx by artisans working the way the stone has always been worked — slow, by hand, one piece at a time. Finished in San Diego and sealed with food-grade beeswax alone. The rust and smoke threading the green are iron held in the stone for millennia, not added, not corrected. Natural irregularities in the carve are the mark of a hand, not a flaw.

OUR STORY
SAÉA — سایہ — means shade, shelter, protection. The name is load-bearing. We work in hand-carved natural onyx, single-source from the Balochistan craft cradle and finished by hand in San Diego, sealing every piece with food-grade beeswax and nothing else. Heavy, raw, slow. Made by earth, shaped by hand, kept by you.
Rooted in intention. Made to keep.
