Older than influence. This is the only piece we made that looks like this. This block carried its own boundary — the place where the polished stone gives way to the raw outer crust the carver chose to leave. Most pieces are worked smooth all the way through. This one wasn't. The rim and the foot still wear the rock's original skin, sienna and unworked, framing the ivory beneath it. No two veins run the same — this one runs rarer than most.
Mehrgarh-adjacent ground. Single-source Balochistan onyx, quarried where the making began.
Set it where the room needs an anchor, not a centerpiece. It holds stems the way it holds light: without asking for attention, and getting it anyway.
⸻
Let it hold what's in season — a single stem or a full cut of baby's breath. Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep it out of standing water. The stone does the rest.

Our Story
سایہ — shade, shelter, protection. That's where the name comes from, and that's the job every piece is asked to do.
SAÉA works in single-source Balochistan onyx, hand-carved by master artisans and finished in San Diego. The cradle of craft, not a flag. The Earth offers the strata; we steward it into the room.
Rooted in intention. Made to keep.
