Shell pearl starts in nacre, the lustrous layer that lines a shell, reformed into a smooth round bead and dyed a deep oxblood red. Strung as a single strand that graduates larger toward the center, the beads carry a soft, wet shine that shifts as they catch the light.
Worn close at the collarbone, the red sits warm against the skin and dresses a bare neckline on its own. The strand is consistently made; the neck it warms is not. Put it on and it reads as yours.

MAKE — Dyed shell pearl, reformed from nacre, hand-strung and finished with a gold-tone lobster clasp and extender. A made, color-treated bead, not a natural gemstone.
FORM — A graduated strand of round burgundy beads, larger at the center and tapering toward the clasp. One warm line of color at the throat.
WEAR — Sits at the collarbone, adjustable on the extender chain with a lobster clasp. Dyed shell pearl is delicate: keep it from water, perfume, and lotion, wipe it with a soft dry cloth after wear, and store it flat and apart from harder pieces.
