Carnelian doesn't form twice the same way. Iron-stained chalcedony, banded by whatever the stone was sitting in when it hardened — that's the origin point here, before this piece ever became a necklace. This is a one of a kind, vintage piece. The only one we have.

Strung once, by someone else's hand, decades before it reached ours. We can't make another — what you're looking at is the only one. Hand-knotted carnelian chips cluster and release down the strand, broken by black onyx and quartz crystal, gathered at center by a single, heavy-cut carnelian stone worn smooth at the edges from age, not polish.

Wear it the way it was clearly meant to be worn: alone, at the collarbone, doing all the work. Store it flat or hanging, away from other pieces — the chip clusters catch on softer chains. No water, no chemicals, no shortcuts. A dry cloth is the whole maintenance plan.
