Agate doesn't band twice the same way. These blue-grey ovals were laid down layer over cloudy layer, translucent in some lights and dense in others, long before anyone thought to string them. The dark rounds between are smoky quartz, brown-black and glassed, their color earned slow underground. Someone gathered them once, knotted them onto a single strand with small gold beads between, and never made another. One of a kind. The only one.
Wear it alone at the collarbone, the blue doing the work against bare skin and the smoky quartz weighting the line. Store it flat, away from harder chains that catch the beads. No water, no chemicals. A dry cloth is the whole plan.
