Stone this heavy doesn't repeat. Four broad nuggets of white magnesite, creamy and run through with tan and grey veining, each cut from a different piece of ground and holding its own web of marks. This is a one of a kind. The only one, vintage.
The magnesite anchors the strand. Between the nuggets, mottled African turquoise, small red coral rounds, and frosted rose quartz break the weight and keep the eye moving, set off by dark bronze-tone spacers. Closed at the back on an antiqued silver toggle. Strung once, by hand, before it reached us. No two pieces like this exist.
At 17 inches it sits high, close to the base of the throat, the white nuggets resting where they catch the light. Wear it alone, over an open collar, doing all the work. Store it flat, away from other pieces — the toggle and stone catch on softer chains. No water, no chemicals. A dry cloth is the whole maintenance plan.
