STRATA · VEIN · WEIGHT
STRATA — Single-source onyx from Balochistan, Pakistan, split once and carved by hand.
VEIN — Honey and walnut lid, banded like wood grain with dark hairlines. Walnut and tobacco brown across the body, broken by honey patches and faint plum streaks. A pale, translucent celadon-green panel under the lid. A natural fissure line runs across the lid's front edge and a fine hairline vein crosses the front of the body, both in the stone itself. One of one.
WEIGHT — Heavy for what it is. Stone where a box this size is usually wood or ceramic. 2 lb.
DETAILS
- Raw onyx, sealed in food-grade beeswax. No chemical polish, so it's as close to the earth as possible when you touch it. No resins, no dyes.
- 5 × 4 × 2.5 in (W × D × H) · 2 lb
- Rectangular, with bombé sides on a stepped base. Fitted lid with a small square stone knob; a raised panel underneath sits inside the opening.

Onyx is a natural stone, stunning but not bulletproof. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh detergents. Read more here.
Each piece is sealed with food-grade beeswax. Refresh every 6 to 12 months by warming a small amount of oil or wax into the surface, then buffing gently with a soft cloth.
Free ground shipping on U.S. orders over $100. Hand-packed in San Diego using recyclable, plastic-free materials, usually shipped within 1-2 business days.
30-day returns on unused, undamaged pieces. Email us at hello@saeadesigns.com and we will send a return label.
If a piece arrives damaged in transit, send photos of it as it came out of the box to hello@saeadesigns.com and we will refund or exchange it.

Onyx forms in slow, mineral-rich pockets underground — layers laid down over thousands of years. Each slab is split once, then carved by hand, which is why no two pieces share the same ribboning.
We keep the walls thin so light passes through when the piece sits on a window ledge.
