one of one
Every piece is hand-carved from raw stone. Veining, color, translucency — no two are identical. The piece you receive is the only one of its kind.

Sourced from Peru. Place it on a coffee table, desk, or console table for a pop of color through natural stone. Copper is the whole story. It weathered out of the ore and came back twice: blue where it reformed as chrysocolla, green where it banded into malachite. The two meet across the face with no blending between them. Blue field, green eye, a hard line where one stops.
Cut and polished into a freeform, so the shape follows the stone instead of a template. Small enough for a stack of books, saturated enough to carry a whole table.
STRATA — Natural chrysocolla with malachite, from an oxidized copper deposit. Cut and polished freeform.
VEIN — Turquoise-blue chrysocolla against banded green malachite, pale mint patches, high polish throughout. The photo guides you to the color; it isn't a contract.
WEIGHT — 0.7 lb.
Chrysocolla is kept in crystal practice for the throat chakra, the stone of speech and communication. Malachite is assigned to the heart, and carried for protection. We report the tradition; we don't claim it.
The documented history is better anyway. Egyptians ground malachite into the green eye paint worn through the Old Kingdom, and it stayed in use as a painter's pigment across Europe until synthetic greens replaced it in the nineteenth century. The color on this stone is the same color that sat on those palettes.
Chrysocolla forms in the oxidized zone of a copper deposit, where the metal breaks down in water and returns as something blue. Malachite forms in the same ground by the same process and returns green. This piece is both, side by side, with no shortcut that trades honesty for shine. The strata occurs once. Earth, unobscured.

Every SAÉA Jewel is made to order in our San Diego studio.
Onyx forms in slow, mineral-rich pockets underground — layers laid down over thousands of years. Each slab is split once, then carved by hand, which is why no two pieces share the same ribboning.
We keep the walls thin so light passes through when the piece sits on a window ledge.

No two pieces alike. No factory finish. Just raw onyx, hand-carved by artisans in Balochistan and finished in our San Diego studio.
