Pale as the underside of things kept from the sun. The lid runs a soft green-cream, broken open across the top by rust and umber — mineral staining that spread through the stone while it was still forming, burnt-orange at its heart, feathering brown at the edges. The body cools to a milky quartz-white, clouded and near-translucent in places, with the same rust surfacing where the stone decided. A squared white knob, cut from the palest run of the block, crowns the lid. One of a kind; this is the only piece we made that looks like this. The exact piece you'll receive.

A lidded box for the surface that gathers small things — rings at the sink, a watch, what leaves your hands at the door. Lift the knob, set the day down, close it. Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep it out of standing water.
