The color of late light going down. This is Balochistan onyx in its warmest register: a butter-cream body that glows amber where the light gets behind it, washed through with gold and soft rust blush like the last hour of a day. Higher up, a patch of deep char-brown burns into the field, edges feathered, the darkest note the stone had in it. A grey seam threads the length. The carver kept all of it. One of a kind. The exact piece you'll receive.
Stand dried stems in it, or brushes and pens on a desk, or leave it empty and let the warmth hold the corner it sits in. Wipe dry; keep it out of standing water.

Each piece is sealed with food-grade beeswax. Refresh every 6 to 12 months by warming a small amount of oil or wax into the surface, then buffing gently with a soft cloth.

Onyx forms in slow, mineral-rich pockets underground — layers laid down over thousands of years. Each slab is split once, then carved by hand, which is why no two pieces share the same ribboning.
We keep the walls thin so light passes through when the piece sits on a window ledge.
